Get some juice down you and a review for the Cookworks Signature Juicer

Recently after some discussion between myself and Sarah we decided we should be consuming more fruit and vegetables so last week we decided to buy a juicer, at first we looked on Amazon for a juicer but as this was our first juicer we was buying we only wanted a budget juicer which it seemed Amazon did not stock, or they may have but the products may not have had any reviews which are important to me

Next I thought I would go to the website of a retailer I do not like that much, that retailer being Argos, after some searching we came across a juicer made by Cookworks who I understand is an Argos own brand, it seemed that this product had many good reviews and was an ideal price for us at just £19.99 so we reserved it and collected it later that day

I had better mention this now for anyone interested in this product, it seems the product is discontinued due to it being from the old Argos catalogue line, but it looks like there is a new model which is very similar in technical specifications and also in looks and it can be seen here

Continuing with the review of the juicer that I have, after collecting it we headed home and the following day we used it for the first time, and nearly every day we have been using it, mainly in afternoons, I can not remember what juice drinks we have been having but the ingredients list has consisted of many items of fruit and vegetables including kiwis, oranges, apples, avocados, pears, carrots, cucumbers, spinach, mangoes and I am still continuously experimenting with new fruit and vegetables to add to my drinks in future, I even have a nickname for the drinks I make almost daily, which is called my superman juice, should I trademark that? Thought not, but after drinking those juice drinks that the juicer produces I feel more energetic whilst out riding on the bike and generally feel more active and more alive so to me these juice drinks are going to be quite an important part of my life going forward to improve my health, endurance and much more

For anyone wondering what I had today, I did not have every fruit and vegetable listed above, would like to have seen how much I would have been going to the toilet otherwise, every two minutes maybe? But today I had a juice drink consisting of one large orange, two pears, one apple, 2 large carrots and a handful of spinach whilst Sarah had a drink that contained two pears and two apples and a chunk of cucumber, not sure about Sarah but my juice drink sure did improve my energy levels today whilst out on a nice bike ride with Sarah over a local country park, unless the improved energy levels were just my imagination, but I felt great today out on the bike

Now to go into some more detail and review the juicer some more, upon first opening the box you take all the parts of the juicer out of the box, actually lets skip the boring part. Assembling the juicer takes some getting used to, before plugging in the juicer you should play around with assembling the juicer, especially the clamps which I found quite tricky, but after about two minutes of playing around with it all I got used to it and found it quite easy to assemble afterwards and still do right now. loading the fruit and vegetables into the chimney which i imagine is not the right name for it is easy, you just have to make sure you peel the right fruits, like oranges and kiwis and cut some other fruits like apples and carrots so they fit down the chimney, you will also have a very handy accessory which is what you will use to push the fruit down the chimney into the blades to make that wonderful juice

The unit is quite noisy, Tatty our 4 month old kitten runs for her life when you switch it on, some reviews say it is too loud, but I do not think it is that bad, I would say it is as loud as a hair dryer but sounds more like a lawn mower, doubt that helps but at the end of the day the noise will not last long unless you plan on putting loads and loads fruit and vegetables in the juicer, but I would not recommend that as the manual says to only operate it for about a minute or two and leave it rest afterwards, which I can understand

Cleaning the unit seems to be quite an easy task, unless it is just the lovely Sarah that makes it look easy? But that is about all there is to it, I love juice and so should you, the natural juice that is, so go get yourself a juicer and loads of natural tasty fruit and vegetables to start experimenting with and see what you like and see if it improves the health and fitness levels that you may want to improve

Thank you for reading, and happy valentines day, and while on the subject of valentines day, happy valentines day to Sarah who I know will read this, love you Sarah

Again thank you for reading and I hope you will come back soon for more reviews and maybe I will mention some more of my superman juice drinks soon

Knog Frog Strobe bike light set review

You may well be aware that I not too long ago recently purchased myself a set of Knog Frog lights from Amazon, before ordering these lights I was unsure of what lights to go for, but I wanted something that was convenient to remove and attach to the bike, something that would get me noticed and something I would be able to use in a dark forest or dark country park

As for convenience I could not ask for a better set of lights, they are absolutely tiny and are made of a flexible silicon material which makes handling and attaching to the bike as easy buttering bread which is great if you need to cycle to the shops and you have to lock the bike up outside, there will be no way to lock the lights, but like I say they will just slip off the bike easily and should easily fit in any pocket because of how tiny the lights are

I am not sure how many people find the product name misleading but I did find it slightly misleading, originally when looking up these lights for the first time I thought they may have had only one mode, but I looked up some reviews of these lights and found out they have more than one mode, which I can confirm, the lights have 4 modes, the first mode is a slow strobe type flashing, the second mode is a slow double flicker strobe type flashing, the third is a fast strobe flashing, which I use most of the time, and the fourth mode is a constant on mode, so it will not flash, it will just remain constant which you may find handy if the other modes give you a headache or you just like a light that remains on constantly

Switching through all the modes is very easy, there is no button, well technically there is, but all you have to do is press down with a finger on the top of the light and you will hear something click each time you go through all the different modes that are available

How bright are the lights? They are certainly not the brightest lights there is and will not light up a pitch black area such as a forest or other areas where there is no street lighting or any lighting at all, so if you are like a vampire and love to come out at night regularly, these lights may not be the best lights for you as these lights are more of a get seen or get noticed light rather than a see everything in front of you light

But the brightness it not as bad as it sounds, if you can cope with only seeing a very short distance in front of you and if there is already light, whether it be from street lighting or light pollution if you live in a city like London these lights are not bad at all, these lights would also be ideal if you are on a tight budget, like me

These lights can currently be had for £13.80 from Amazon and they get a final score of 8 out of 10 from me for doing a good job at getting me noticed, but not so much of a good job if I want to enter a dark forest one night

Thank you for reading, the review may not have been as thorough as other reviews have been but I have only been using these lights for a short while and I guess I am just not that great at reviewing bike lights, but I hope you enjoyed reading and found this review informative

Review of No Fear combat pants

Recently I received a pair of combat pants, as a Christmas gift from Sarah, they are the No Fear combat pants that you can buy from Sports Direct in store and online here

I first started wearing them just the other day, and they are a very comfortable pant, they are very breathable while keeping you warm outside in this horrible weather, I have not been able to test them out in warm weather yet but I imagine they will keep me cool, but when it starts getting too warm I will just start wearing short cargo type pants

These pants also have many pockets, the main pockets where the hips are have loads of room, the other day I managed to fit my camera in there along with a gorilla pod tripod attached to it, the zips feel sturdy, there is also many other pockets including another two deep zipped pockets on the side of the side of the legs at knee level, and underneath them pockets there are which I would call quick access pockets that just have a piece of material that acts as a flap, those pockets are not so deep though and I would not put much in there, apart from things that are not important, so one day they may come in handy for storing some notes in there on a piece of paper, or a mini map if you want quick access to a map, there are also pockets on the back, which are popper secured, so no zips this time, just a single popper on each pocket, which I would not use for too much, but they are bound to come in handy one day

Comfort wise, you have loads of room to move about in them, they are quite a baggy pant as cargo pants are I guess, and they are also light, while having a gentle feel on the skin, but tough on the outside, which is nice, so they appear to be well made, when going out on my bike in these pants though I will need to secure the bottoms of them unless I want them shredded up by the chain, because as I say they are quite baggy, Imagine you were wearing boot cut jeans, not sure if that helps but I guess you get the idea

I can move around nicely in these pants, as they are loose and light, so ideal for riding the bike with as the legs are always moving when riding, so the more freely the legs can move the better, and this is the case with these pants

The colour of the pants I have is the charcoal colour which is a very nice colour I think, and the pants come with a free belt, which is quite a strange belt, but one I have got used to now, the belt is a fabric belt with some kind of hooks to do the belt up, it is confusing to explain, but the belt keeps the pants up and prevents them from falling down, so that is all that matters, and you should quickly overcome the confusion you may get with fastening the belt

The sizing of the pants are quite strange, good thing I tried them on in store and bought them in store rather than online, with most clothes I am usually always a large, and on some rare occasions an extra large, but never usually a medium, which is what I had to get in order for the pants to fit nicely as the large was to large around the waist area, and that was about it, so the medium was the best choice for me as that size was not too tight or not too loose around the waist, so if you want some of these I suggest you go try them on, or if not, order a size under what you would usually order or what you think you would need to order

You can buy these pants for £14.99 from Sports Direct, in store or online, I hope it does not sound like I work for them or No Fear or have any affiliation with them, but I do not, just incase you are thinking that, here is the link to them, Available in Charcoal, Black, Brown or an army type print

For a final score of these pants, they get a well deserved 9 out of 10

Thank you for reading, and why not let me know how you get on, that is if you do decide to get some of them

ETC water bottle and cage set review

After a long time waiting, the water bottle and cage set had finally arrived yesterday afternoon, shortly after I opened the package and there was a bottle and cage, but no bolts to fix it to the bike, but after a quick moment of madness sarah reminded me the bolts were on the bike already, I just guess the bolts were not tight on my brain that afternoon

So I go get the bike out and get my allen key set and have a choice of putting it on to the down tube or seat tube, so I undo the bolts on the seat tube part of the frame, the part of the frame where you measure the size of the frame, putting the cage on the frame was tricky at times, but I think that was more to do with my allen key set than anything else

Now that the cage was fixed to the frame nicely, so I decided to open the water bottle, where I found bolts, so if you have a bike but no bolts on the frame that would be handy, now I got the water bottle and half filled it with water to see how it sits in the cage, when the bottle is in the cage there is a tiny amount of movement, so you do not get the feeling that the bottle is guaranteed to not come out, but still there is not enough movement for it to easily come out unless you turn the bike upside down, I am not sure if it will come out when laying the bike down on the floor but I doubt it would

So that is the secureness part of the review covered, so after all the fixing to the bike and testing how secure things were I decided it was time to wash the bottle out and shortly after see how the water tasted when I filled it up again, at first there you can tell the water has been tainted by the rubber bottle, but not by much as I thought before receiving this product, some people may not even notice it

The appearance is nice, the cage has a nice gloss black finish while the bottle, quite a large one at that is not too bad looking too, it takes up quite a lot of room on my frame, but I think that is just because I am so used to not having a water bottle and cage on the bike so I imagine I am too used to just doing what I used to do which was carry a water bottle around in a back pack, like a Buxton water bottle, but now having a water bottle on the bike is more convenient and all around a better option I think

Now all that is left to do is go out and ride the bike with it all attached, which should not be too long, if anything goes wrong I will be sure to write up about it, if not, I will not and you will know I am happy and it has done what it is meant to do

Thank you for reading
